Rotary Waveband Subsea Switch

Description

This waveband switch offers a range of waveband options, from 3 to 8 positions. When installed in the underwater equipment, it allows you to facilitates circuit waveband switching inside a watertight enclosure without needing to open it. The threaded specification is M10x1. It can withstand pressures at depths of up to 1000 meters. Rotating the knob enables the switch between different waveband positions, and a distinct tactile "click" confirms position changes. Each pin of the switch, regardless of the number of positions, supports direct on-off for 0.5A at 24VDC and 0.2A at 48VDC. When dealing with high-current circuits, you can connect relays or MOS switch circuits.
The switch knob is marked with clear lines, displaying the current position status, and rotary switches with any number of positions can be rotated continuously through 360 degrees. The wrench socket of the bulkhead does not extend to the bottom. The retained circular step serves to protect the hatch cover, averting potential scratches during wrenching procedures. In cases where closely positioned bulkheads limit available workspace, tools like snap ring pliers can be utilized to rotate the semi-circular groove on the head, negating the need for specialized tools. It's advised to include washers or anti-slip pads between the nut and the bulkhead to secure fastening and deter loosening. Avoid applying any friction-reducing sliding pads, like gaskets, to the nut. Loctite thread locker is recommended for application to the nut and bulkhead to prevent loosening. Be cautious not to let the thread glue come into contact with the gasket or its contact surface.

FAQ

● How does the number of positions correspond to the number of digits? What does "common terminal" mean?
Positions - Digits = 1. For example, an 8-position band switch has 8 wires. The common terminal is denoted by the black wire. When the knob is aligned with the common terminal, no pins are connected. Turning the knob one position clockwise connects the second red wire with the black wire, and so forth.
● After using the switch in murky waters for a while, I sense some resistance while rotating. Is this normal?
Yes, this is normal. Impurities or salt crystals might have entered small crevices. You can alleviate this by soaking the switch in warm water and rotating it several times to dislodge any impurities.
● Can this switch handle high-current power sources?
No, you should employ MOS switches or relays to manage high voltage and high current power sources.
● Will the knob come off during intense vibrations?
No, the knob is equipped with a locking pin mechanism to ensure secure positioning.
● Can you provide an electrical schematic for the switch?
No, this is a physical on-off switch. It can be simplified as a multi-position switch with a common terminal.
● Can this switch be used in shallow water or in the air?
Yes, it is suitable for usage in water depths ranging from 0 to 1000 meters, as well as in the air.
● Will forcefully twisting the knob cause damage?
No, it won't, but avoid rotating the knob at excessively high speeds as it can lead to excessive wear or damage.
