Acrylic End Cap

Description

This end cap for the SUBLAB series of watertight enclosure is made of transparent acrylic material and is suitable for shallow water and short-term applications.
The application scope of transparent acrylic end caps is limited, only suitable for shallow water and occasions with infrequent disassembly and assembly. Tests have shown that it is difficult to control the pressure resistance of each acrylic sheet to be similar, and there are also differences in the thickness of the raw material sheets. The marked pressure-resistant depth is the average maximum limit depth.
Indentations or even cracks may easily occur at the mounting holes during repeated disassembly and assembly. Do not overtighten. Please select the end cap material based on project requirements. If a transparent window is needed, a glass flange end cap can be also selected separately.
This acrylic end cap is made using CNC machining rather than laser cutting, with precise hole and edge dimensions, no chipping, burrs, etc., and the outer ring has been polished. The overall manufacturing process is significantly superior to that of laser-cut hatch covers, providing better waterproof sealing performance and avoiding the waterproofing defects caused by the laser cutting process.

Explanation of rated pressure-resistant depth: This data represents the short-term pressure-resistant depth obtained from sample testing, not a long-term guarantee of pressure-resistant depth. When exposed to water pressure for more than 2 weeks or when the operating environment approaches the rated pressure-resistant depth, please conduct a separate water pressure test or use an aluminum end cap.

*Please note that there will be differences in the thickness of raw materials for different batches of sheet materials, and the thickness of negative tolerance sheets will be significantly thinner, so there will also be differences in weight. Please remove the protective films on both sides before use. The protective films are made of paper or plastic film, with an actual measured thickness of 7 - 8.5mm and a typical thickness of approx. 7.5mm.
Special Note: Acrylic products must not come into contact with alcohol. Do not touch any type of alcohol or alcohol derivatives, as this will cause them to crack and become ineffective! Do not clean any acrylic products with alcohol either! Only use water or acrylic-safe cleaners. Alcohol, solvents, and harsh cleaners will cause the material to crack and be damaged! Most threadlockers are chemically incompatible with plastics and will also damage acrylic products!

FAQ

● Can it still be used if the contact surface of O-ring is accidentally scratched?
No, it cannot be used, as there is a risk of leakage.
● Are they compatible with SUBLAB aluminum tubes, acrylic tubes and flanges?
Yes, they are compatible with tubes of the same size and can be directly replaced.
● Whether to apply grease to O-rings every time?
Yes, applying lubricating grease has several benefits: it helps remove dust and impurities from O-rings during application, allows O-rings to adhere to the groove for easy assembly.
● Can I drill holes myself?
A special drill bit is required, as ordinary drill bits tend to cause cracking during hole drilling, and attention should be paid to the perpendicularity of the drilled holes.
