Description

This depth sensor is a waterproof packaged version of the MS583730BA-50 chip and can measure up to 30Bar (300m water depth).
In particular, the design and production process of the depth sensor strictly comply with the design specifications of the depth sensor chip to maximize its life and accuracy.
It is commonly used for depth measurement of underwater equipment in Ardusub systems and is directly compatible with Ardusub when plugged into Pixhawk.
Because the soft film of the chip is fragile and needs maintenance, the protective cover that is easy to remove and assemble is necessary. The protective cover of the sensor can be easily removed to complete observation and cleaning, and to a certain extent, avoid the damage caused by the impact of foreign bodies such as sand and stone.
Please note that all depth sensors using the MS5837 need to be dried once a day for at least two hours, as described in the technical manual of the pressure sensor chip, otherwise the readings will drift, and if underwater permanent and higher reliability is required, choose the metal diaphragm version.

FAQ

● Can the wire be extended?
An excessively long wire or bus with multiple devices on it may affect the IIC timing. It can be improved by reducing the resistance value of IIC pull-up resistor and changing it to strong pull-up. Or add an IIC relay chip to extend the wire.
● How do I read if I don't use ardusub? Do you have code examples?
This sensor chip is widely used and rich in data, you can refer to the open-source sample code on the network.
● How should I clean the protective cover after it is removed?
You can use warm water or room temperature water gently wash, do not direct water, do not touch the white soft film.
● The white soft film is broken, will it affect?
Yes, no further use is recommended.
● Can it be used in seawater and fresh water?
Yes.
