Underwater watertight enclosures are almost mandatory in underwater equipment, and different watertight enclosures have different functions. For example, electronic watertight enclosures, battery watertight enclosures, all require different number of holes and different size of openings.
Even if we provide as many end caps as possible with different number of holes, we still can't meet all the needs.
Below is an example of how to customize a end cap that meets your requirements, using the OD115 aluminum battery watertight enclosure as an example.
1. Download the drawing from the End Cap product page.
2. Use the drawing software to open, draw the auxiliary circle, mark the maximum range of the flange inner wall, this range refers to the open hole installation of the bulkhead components shall not exceed this circle. (You can take the round step on the back of the end cap as the range.)
* Need to pay attention to the watertight connector, etc. locking cap or gasket of the maximum outside diameter does not exceed the circular range, not the outer diameter of the open hole.
3. Taking the battery watertight enclosure as an example, the required openings are:
1 x for subconn 7/16-20 (for power output and charging input);
1 x for M10 switch (for power switching);
1 x for vacuum plug (for testing the sealing);
1 x for a signal indicator (for determining the power output status);
1 x for M8 enclosure vent (for removing the air vent with flange);
1 x for M10 digital tube (for displaying the battery level).
There are 6 holes in total, one of which is a Ø0.445'' (Ø11.3) watertight connector through-hole, 4 holes are Ø10.1 through-holes for M10, and 1 hole is Ø8.1 through-hole for M8.
Leave some space around each hole for easy disassembly and installation, and leave the concentric holes in a circle for easy alignment of the holes to prevent interference.
4. Inspection in the assembly after tensile excision of the opening.
Note that neither front nor back side interferes with the flange.
5. Export a 3D drawing of the end cap in STEP format and label the holes in the pdf drawing. Just mark the position and size of each hole, no need to mark other dimensions.
6. Finally send the drawing to us, after confirming the drawing with you, we can arrange the production of your customized end cap.
About Price:The price of customized end cap for single piece is about 2.5 times of the standard price due to the need of separate machining and oxidizing. Delivery time is about 10 days after payment, oxidation color is optional.
